Who We Are

Habitat for Humanity is a people-to-people partnership drawing families and community together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing for people in need.  Habitat affiliates have built houses and provided shelter for thousands of people all over the world.

Sussex County Habitat for Humanity, Inc. was established in 1993 by people concerned with the need for decent, affordable housing in Sussex County, NJ.  It is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.

Family Selection Now Open In Hopatcong & Stillwater

Sussex County Habitat has a 3 bedroom ranch currently under construction in Hopatcong and we are hoping to break ground on a 3 bedroom ranch in Stillwater later this year. Sussex County Habitat is now accepting applications for both these homes.

Click here for full details on the Family Selection Criteria to see if your family meets the requirements for a 3 bedroom home. Please ensure that you review and understand all requirements prior to submitting your application. Your application fee cannot be refunded.

Each house will sell for between $80,000 and $90,000. There will be 30 year deed restriction that allows for modest equity upon resale, but mandates that the house only be sold to qualifying low and moderate income families in accordance with the State’s COAH guidelines.

Click here to download the Family Selection Application as a MS Word document or a PDF document.

There is a mandatory Home Application Orientation Session at our office on Saturday February 20th from 10 AM – 12 PM. Click here for directions.

The fully completed application along with all supporting documentation and the application fee must be received by Sussex County Habitat on or before Saturday March 6th, 2010.
